Origin: We are a UK based organisation with the head office in Glasgow. The organisation is run by people of various ethnicity and professional backgrounds.
It all started by accident when the CEO received a gift of old books from a friend meant for a school in Ghana; subsequently the need/desire to reach out to a greater number of children in Ghana was conceived. The founder started making passionate appeals for donations of books, toys and other educational/learning materials from friends, family and 
even knocked on doors of neighbours.. As a way of expanding the donation base, the founder wrote letters to individuals and organisations across the UK..The positive response led to the birth of DORIKOR. It is our hope to continue to reach out to more children and offer them a ladder to greater heights. .
The values underpinning our work spells out the word CHILD. We are Committed and Helpful in serving our client group with Integrity, Loyalty and Dedication. This keeps us focus on the child as central and remains the key driving force.
We hope to be able to:
1) Using play to motivate vulnerable children to go/remain in school.
2) Promote fun packed extra curricular eg after school clubs.
3)Using activities to promote the emotional,,psychological and mental wellbeing of children.
4) Using local volunteers, provide respite for children carers.
5)Promote friendship among children in Ghana and Scotland through writing eg penpals, exchange programmes.
